NUFC 0 Bristol City 0 – Video
Saturday see’s Plymouth Argyle make the long haul North to St James Park, we asked members of the Unofficial Argyle site Pasoti their views for our lates edition of Behind Enemy Lines.Again, we are receiving a great response from the lads over at Pasoti so pay them a visit if you get chance.
We had to choose one response, and here it is, thanks to JRDUB
First of all, what’s your opinion on Luggy, is he right for the job or is he simply a terrace fave as Keegan was as a player?
Fans are starting to turn against him now and, to be fair, we have had a dire run of results this season and the tail end of last… But it would be a difficult job for any manager and personally I think Luggy is as good as anyone else. Add to that the desire for stability / continuity and the talk of a long term (5-year) plan – all in all I think we need to stick with Luggy and let him get on with building his team. We have got some decent young talent and the performances (although, unfortunately not results) are starting to look much better. I just hope the board don’t start getting twitchy now the going is getting a bit tough…
Do you expect one of your players to be a real star this year?
Agree with comments about Mackie but, from what I have seen so far, I think Alan Gow could be the one to set the world alight this year.
You’ve had a rough start to the campaign, did you expect better?
Definitely expected to get something out of some of the games we have lost… I think we all knew it would be a tough season though.
Is there anyone else we should look out for on Saturday that we may not know about?
Players you don’t know about… Um… If you can find a centre half playing for Argyle then please let US know because we aren’t aware of any at the moment!
You’ve played some of the league favourites already, do you see us as the biggest test so far?
Newcastle were always going to be one of the biggest tests we face this season (along with WBA, Boro, etc) but we have had a tendency to do pretty well against the league’s better teams over the last 3 or 4 seasons. Particularly when we play them at their place. We have beaten Reading, Wolves, WBA and Sunderland away over the last few seasons, so based on that you could argue this is one of the games we are most likely to do well in!
What do you know about NUFC?
My boss is a Geordie and likes talking… so I feel like I know EVERYTHING about NUFC. He will be on the Gallowgate tomorrow.
Where do you think we will finish in the league?
You gotta be thinking you will be straight back up. I reckon you’re probably right, although maybe not automatically. And if you miss out on the top two places it becomes a bit of a lottery (take Burnley for example) so you might be back down here again next year.
Any team news?
Can we borrow a centre back?
Finally a score prediction?
1-1
