NUFC 0 Bristol City 0 – Video

Well, that was a game with two sides who would still be fighting for Premier League survival, the difference last night may have been the referee for his blatant disregard to the rules of the game, penalty claims were ignored and for the life of me, I’ve never seen a referee as poor.
Take nothing away from the fact that West Brom are a decent side though.
Thomas got at Simpson early on and from about 40minutes onwards, Simpson was blowing out of his arse, Guti had a great game but let himself down with the final ball and finishing, too many of the players seemed disinterested, and should I start on Shola???
I read reports yesterday of Shola vowing to get back to scoring ways after his return from injury, when? On that performance it’s not going to happen anytime soon. I appreciate Shola got a bit of a rough ride off the Baggie defence, but howay, he’s fucking 6ft fucking 20 and built like a shed, save from a few tidy chest downs, Shola was simply awful. Back to looking like he can’t be arsed, wandering off side, staying off side, and that turn of pace!! It aint there, Hughton should have had Carroll on for the second half, never mind 13 minutes.
I will say we were unlucky, but only because of 2 or 3 stone wall penalty claims being turned down, apart from that, West Brom took it to us and we didn’t handle them very well, they we’re strong and went to kick lumps out of us, we didn’t respond as well to that as we should have.
All in all a draw is all we can come away with, we should be winning our home games but I suppose a draw would be a fair result.
Points to note, Simpson may not be the player we thought he was, up against Thomas it was man against boy and Simpson simply couldnt handle him, I dread to think what he’d be like in the Prem, Sir Alex doesnt let players go very often, he’s willing to ship Simpson out, and last night highlighted why.
Forwards, we need forwards, OK, Ranger, Carroll, Lovenkrands blah blah, not good enough.
We need a right side, we’re predictable in that everything is coming from Enrique and Jonas, there were plenty of opportunities for the ball to be switched frmo left to right last night, space was there but we didn’t have any sort of quality to realise the gaps were there.
We’re lop sided, no wonder Enrique and Jonas look exhausted it’s simply because they have the ball for the best part of the game.
Slightly concerned that Colocinni is producing great performances, and I wonder if the rumour I heard about his wage is correct, £80k per week I was informed be a learned/misguided fan last night – if that’s true, I can’t see him staying around much longer.
A final thought, if the team is so together and bonded, why do they still blame each other for mistakes? Another mediocre performance, we don’t look like title winners just yet, but, lack of quality in the league should see us promoted, shouldn’t it?
Well done Peter Lovenkrand’s, after the death of his father only a few day’s earlier, I think we should applaud his attitude and thank him for even being there, let alone scoring!

6:57 AMwhat game were you watching pal?
We came to kick lumps out of you??? We came to play conter-attacking football and tore you apart at times.
West Brom are definately better away from home when teams come out to attack us,we are clueless when the opposition sticks 10 men behind the ball.
It was a good game last night, agree the referee was poor. Not sure about the 3 stonewall penalties though.
Good luck for the rest of the season, hope we both go back up at the end of it

6:59 AMRemind me how many yellow’s your lad’s got?
PJ say's:
8:34 AMKen, 16 foul’s against 14 fouls hardly unfair, poor ref I would say
Ken Waugh say's:
8:38 AM3 penalty claims, 5 yellows and WBA were trying to kick their way through the game, I support NUFC, black and white goggles exist!

9:45 AMWhat about the lad who kicked Jara up the backside in the last minute, at any other point of the game that is a red card. Dear me. The main difference between the two teams/fans is whilst you lot feel the divine right to win every week and be top by 20 points, we are more realistic and measured. You will go up but at least have the grace to see the whole picture
Ken Waugh say's:
11:26 AMPat, you see, this is why fan’s come across as ignorant and lacking in knowledge.
We don’t feel wehave the right to be 20 points clear, in fact, most of us are surprised to be there, especially as our performances haven’t been brilliant.
The main difference between the teams was more or less nothing, you passed it better than us, overall we had more chances to win it, and if the ref was better, we would have had 2 penalties in the game.
And if Jara got kicked up the arse, I mustve missed it, my black and white goggles never see anything like that, good luck in the play-off’s – say’s he tongue in cheek!
