It’s a bit of a slow news day ahead of this evenings match but Chris Hughton wants one of his strikers to earn the right to wear the famous number 9 shirt.
Leon Best says he could have taken it but wants to be given it on merit. Leon also says he turned down a move to hometown club and promotion rivals Nottingham Forest in order to join Newcastle.
Most of the papers seem to think Best will get a start tonight against Cardiff, there are also suggestions that Fitz Hall will make his debut, maybe at right-back?
Kevin Nolan is keen to get back amongst the goals, maybe if he lost some weight and ran around a bit it might help.
Hughton meanwhile confirmed that Steven Taylor will be out until at least the end of March.
