Apparently Newcastle United players held their own meeting after the 3-0 defeat to Derby and subsequent dressing down by Chris Hughton. To be honest I wish they would all just stop chuntering on to the local press about it and instead concentrate on doing their talking on the pitch against Swansea on Saturday.

Newcastle Reserves drew 2-2 with Lincoln City reserves.

West Brom are considering a loan move for midfielder Jason Koumas. The 30-year-old Welshman is currently with Wigan.

Ex Newcastle Striker Viduka has all but retired. Apparently he was approached about joining Melbourne Heart, their boss was quoted as saying:

“We spoke to him about playing, but he doesn’t want to”  and “He said he’s happy to keep chatting about other things, but he made it quite clear he is not interested in playing. He has his head in a different space now (away from football).”

I’m pretty sure Viduka told a few Newcastle managers that “he doesn’t want to” and that he is “not interested in playing” so I’m surprised he hasn’t signed on for another pay day only to then lie around on a treatment table for months.
