Reality Check? You Jest!?
Derek Llambias suugests that some of our supporters are unreasonable and in need of a reality check, well he might be right…But, am I one, it made me think!
A few years ago I was watching NUFC compete with the might of Barcelona, Milan etc etc, and mixing week in week out with Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, we were better than Aston Villa…I watched Alan Shearer bless St James’ Park and carry the flag for England, I saw Ginola, Beardo, Tino to name some of our more recent “genius” players.
Go further back to days of old and yes relegation back then was bad, promotion was fantastic and the likes of Andy Cole made us proud – I could go on about how proud I was to support NUFC and still am if honest, but I won’t – “Have you ever seen a mackem in Milan?”
We used to have a realistic chance of qualifying for Europe, that has disappeared, and for quite a while I might add.
And Derek calls some of us unreasonable? I’d like to think Im rational, so bollocks Derek, if you think we’re unreasonable, we feel it’s unacceptable to be where we are, given the places we’ve been to and the fall from grace that we have seen.
I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a stable football club with aspirations for European football, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for our club to be ran properly, and I don’t think Derek, or any other management member is in any position to comment on our reality.
The reality is, these men took us down, don’t expect us to forgive and forget and you think you’re winning us over, if Ashley walked over broken glass, I’d feel for the glass!

12:52 PMNice article. I don’t know if Ashley and Llambias are totally ignorant or whether they think Newcastle fans are. Some recent gullible comments by Newcastle fans makes me believe that they think the latter.
The history of these two scum bags will never be forgotten by me and many other fans. Remember, never believe what people say, believe them when you see what they have done. When the details of the accounts are available for scrutiny is when I will give my final analysis of what Mike Ashley has done for our club.
Does anyone out there really think Freddy Sheppard would have let us drop into the Championship? Freddy Sheppard may have his faults and I’m not here to defend him but I still believe that he is a supporter and he would never have allowed Newcastle to be relegated.
